Will I be a certified RBT after completing this program?

Accepted Answer

Not yet — completing this course gives you a Training Certificate for the 40-hour training, not the RBT credential. You must separately arrange and pay for an Initial Competency Assessment through an assessor and organization that meet the BACB's relationship requirements, meet the BACB's other eligibility requirements, apply to the BACB ($65 paid directly to them), and pass the 85-question RBT exam (75 scored and 10 unscored) at a Pearson VUE testing center ($45). The BACB, not BH Field Academy, grants the RBT credential.

How long does the program take to complete?

The 40-hour training is online and self-paced. The BACB requires the training to span at least 5 days, and your Academy access window is 180 days from enrollment. The separate Initial Competency Assessment follows on its own timeline through a qualified assessor and organization that meet the BACB relationship requirements.

Does the curriculum meet the BACB's RBT training requirements?

Our course is built to the current 2026 RBT 40-Hour Training Curriculum and is designed to meet the training-component requirements for the RBT credential. BH Field Academy offers the training independently of the BACB; the BACB does not approve individual Academy courses. You submit the Training Certificate you receive as documentation of the training component.

Can I work as an RBT in any state?

The RBT is a BACB certification, but certification does not override state law, employer or payer requirements, or the BACB's supervision rules. Requirements to provide services or use a professional title can vary by jurisdiction, so check the current rules where you plan to work.

What's your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

You may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase if you've completed less than 25% of the course, unless the purchase was identified as non-refundable. Email support@bhfield.academy to start a refund; approved refunds are typically processed within 3 business days.

Question 6

How do voucher codes work?

Accepted Answer

Voucher codes are issued by employers, training partners, or directly by BH Field for complimentary access. If you received one, paste it into the voucher activation page when you sign up — there's no separate checkout. Vouchers are valid for 30 days from issue.

Can I pause my 180-day access window?

Accepted Answer

We don't currently support pausing the access window, but life happens — if you have a serious circumstance (medical, family emergency), email us and we'll extend the window manually.

I can't log in

Accepted Answer

Try requesting a magic link from the login page — that's the most reliable path. If you've set a password, double-check the email address you're using. If a magic link doesn't arrive within 5 minutes, check your spam folder. Still stuck? Email support.

Question 9

Video isn't playing or buffering

Accepted Answer

Most video issues come from one of three things: (1) your browser is out of date — try Chrome or Safari latest, (2) your network is rate-limiting video — try a wired connection or different network, (3) your account doesn't have access to the lesson yet because a prior section isn't completed. The lesson player will tell you if it's #3.

Can I download lessons for offline viewing?

Not yet. We're evaluating offline support but it isn't available in this version. Lesson PDFs (study guides, transcripts, and the BACB Task List) are downloadable in the program's Downloads and resources section.

Who teaches and reviews this content?

Accepted Answer

Danaisa Urgelles Arias, BCBA (BACB certification no. 1-19-36808), is the Responsible Trainer for this course. BH Field's clinical team contributed to the curriculum, and Danaisa approved the complete training against the 2026 RBT 40-Hour Training Curriculum.

How do I schedule my Competency Assessment?

The Initial Competency Assessment is a separate BACB step and is not included in this course purchase. The applicant, assessor, and client-service organization must meet the BACB relationship requirements. BH Field plans to offer assessment scheduling as a separate service when those requirements can be met; contact our team for current availability and pricing.

Does this course include the Initial Competency Assessment?

No. All 40 hours of this course are completed online. The Initial Competency Assessment is a later BACB requirement that you arrange and pay for separately through a qualified assessor and organization that meet the BACB relationship requirements.
